When both the bride and groom come from a Greek-Cypriot background, you know the celebrations will not be quiet, and guests invited to attend Andrea and Adam’s wedding at Twelve Apostles Orthodox church certainly got into the spirit. Even though I was with the couple from the time they were preparing until well into the night, the happiness generated by the couple, their family and friends infused me with energy and made it an enjoyable experience for me as well. The Country Club Hotel from rising group of Across Hotels, is on the Central Greek mainland, in a lovely small village called Mikro Chorio, surrounded by mountains and forests. If you did not know you were in Greece, you could almost picture yourself as in the Swiss Alps or a Colorado ski resort, as the hotel has the atmosphere of a luxurious lodge. The red and green interior echoes the natural landscape, while the panelled wood ceilings, stone walls and roaring fireplaces are reminiscent of a ski chalet.

The Ukrainian wedding of Oleksandr and Olesya’s took place in London. It is always such a pleasure to photograph events from different cultures and this celebration was not an exception. The sense of family and love was very strong and the traditional Ukrainian ceremonies and practices made for such a special day – we feel so grateful to have been a part of it. See more…

The sun was shining to make it a gorgeous day for Fiona’s baptism at Our Lady of Loreto and St Winefride’s in Kew. The Roman Catholic church’s light, bright interior was a fantastic backdrop for christening images, and we enjoyed shooting some of the church’s details before the guest of honour arrived and the service began. As much as I love working in London, getting the opportunity to work abroad is a fantastic treat, especially in my home-country Greece where I’m usually moving for the summertime. So it was with enormous excitement that this lovely couple chose us for their wedding.

She was a classically beautiful bride in her strapless sweetheart wedding gown with a fabulously full ruffled skirt. The pure white dress was offset sensationally by her bridesmaids, whom she had chosen vivid purple strapless dresses for, and her matron of honour, who wore hot pink. The gardens were full of purple and white flowers, and we had a lot of fun taking shots before the bride, her family, and friends made their way to the church on foot, accompanied by musicians and merriment. In Greek-Cypriot weddings, some couples adapt customs to fit their more modern lives while others, like Georgina and Evros, retain many elements of their heritage and celebrate their wedding day in a thoroughly traditional manner. Modern or traditional, every couple is unique, which makes our job varied and enjoyable.

Our day started at Georgina’s home, as her seven bridesmaids helped her get ready for her big day, with the preparation of the bride and groom being almost as important as the wedding ceremony itself. See more…

This article is a description of a working day, it will explain the thought processes and preparation required and that goes into making your special day as perfect as you deserve.

As children, we all imagined ourselves as doctors, famous singers, rock stars, celebs, country leaders, lawyers, teachers, and so on. We would built scenarios about how great we would be at what we do and how we changed the world.

Of all the jobs on Earth, I have never heard anyone dreaming of becoming a wedding professional photographer! I believe it is a slightly underestimated job but I can assure you it is one of the most fascinating ones, if I have a saying on this! Yes, it is a lot of difficult job, but it is really worth every bit of it. See more…

The weather was perfect for Christalla and Chris’ wedding at Orsett Hall, so Chris sat outside in the sunshine while his koumbaro performed the traditional wedding-day shave. At the end of his preparations, the groom looked as smooth as James Bond in his black dinner jacket, flanked by his groomsmen as they made their way to the church. While one team was busy at Chris’ house, another was at Christalla’s, capturing her preparations which included the stolisma that is Greek-Cypriot customary. It wasn’t immediately apparent on the day but, looking back at the images during editing, it is surprising how similar the three beautiful sisters look!

Following ceremony at St Demetrios Orthodox Church in Edmonton, where Father John and Father Evangelos graciously allowed us to capture the wedding, everyone departed for the Orsett Hall reception. The private gardens looked gorgeous in the sunshine, and we made the most of the setting to capture portraits of the newlyweds and group shots with their family and friends. See more…

On a lovely summer day we were fortunate enough to capture this lovely wedding, held at the Chelsea Town Hall in London. It was an emotional afternoon full of happiness for all. Alexandra was an absolute vision; in a 1950’s style lace belted dress, with a glistening hairpin and striking red suede ankle strapped stiletto shoes. Whilst Tom looked ultra dapper in a full 3 piece navy blue suit. It was wonderful catching the moments of Tom, knowing that Alexandra was slipped behind the corner, where he could not see. It was a wonderful service held at the Chelsea Registry Office (in non-coincidentally the ‘Brydon Room’), with about 20 family guests. The pale yellow room, with large ornate gold mirrors and crystal chandeliers made a wonderful backdrop for the wedding ceremony. The celebrant was light hearted and made the service well suited to Alexandra and Tom’s carefree and vibrant personalities. We loved catching the emotion in the room, including some beautiful tears from Tom’s father, on exchanging of the rings.

Alexandra and Tom were an absolutely stunning couple. Here is some of our favourites shots from their wedding. We wish them all the very best for their many years of marriage to come. See more…

This couple were in London’s City and wanted something special to remember being here together. What better idea than to have a session with each other, around some of city’s most exclusive landmarks and streets or tourists attractions and sights. The day was grey and of what many would call miserable, however the colour of the sky added nothing but further depth to the imagery, making that couple stand out dramatically.

American visitor M was so excited by her visit to London, that she wanted to capture the occasion with a professional photo shoot in London. Anna and Christos’ wedding in Birmingham and Leicester was a delight to capture. We started from Anna’s bridal preparation at her family house in Leicester. In true Cypriot style, we were welcomed into an abundant home buzzing with family and friends of all ages. It was a beautiful wedding day and made for a great setting for shots of our bride, Anna. We did our usual close ups but my favourite was capturing Anna getting ready in her parents bedroom and having her mother and fathers wedding photo in the shot with her.

V and I knew their wedding day, which we were the professionals for and which you can see here, was going to be as much about the bringing together of their Greek-Cypriot and Indian families as it was about celebrating their marriage. Having an engagement session was a great opportunity for them to put aside the stress of wedding planning and simply enjoy being together.

The couple was a joy to work with. We took these images in Verulamium Park in St Albans, and around some landmarks of this Hertfordshire’s historic city.  See more…

Christening is one of the most major mysteries in the Orthodox Christian Church and it makes a great opportunity for the child’s family to gather and celebrate together the entrance of the child to the body of the church. For this reason, the value of beautiful, high-quality shots is great as these will be kept as a milestone of the child’s greatest moments for the years to come.

As professionals with many years of experience in events and celebrations, we were delighted to be hired for the shooting of Sean Evangelos Toma’s baptism. The ceremony took place at the Greek cathedral of the Holy Cross See more…

Excellent images are crucial for your business. People process images faster than words, meaning that the images on your website are what potential guests will base their first impressions on. If you don’t capture their attention with your images it doesn’t matter how good your services or how convincing your words, they will quickly move on. Different sides of a building may require different types of light to show them at their best. For example, direct sunlight on a bright day could make the facade of your B&B, apartment or hotel look amazing, or it could cast hard shadows and give a terrible result, in which case it would be better to shoot at a different time of day.  See more…

I recently had the opportunity to carry out portrait photos for Poker the official WPT Magazine with the famous poker player, Sam Trickett. Taking photos entails an intricate amount of altering lighting for each shot. Each image that is captured requires its unique adjustment of lighting in order to be able to grasp the wholeness of the picture in real life and transfer it onto the photograph. An essential part of making a editorial and lifestyle photos as authentic as possible is making the subject feel comfortable and at ease. See more…

It is always a treat to collaborate with other wedding vendors on a styled shoot. It gives us the opportunity to showcase our skills and creativity, possibly developing an idea which germinated during an actual wedding, or by developing something new and dramatic, as with this Danson House wedding styled-shoot.

Venetian masquerade carnival masks were first worn around 700 years ago, with mask makers (Mascereri) being officially recognised as master craftsmen in 1436. Though an important part of Venetian society during the Renaissance, the popularity of the masquerade ball in England didn’t reach its height until the latter half of the 1700s – around the same time Danson House was built.

There is nothing like the atmosphere of a bar mitzvah celebration. Its religious significance is important, while the following reception can be like a great celebration, the concentration of teenagers creates an atmosphere similar to a school prom. It’s sweet, endearing, and always a lot of fun.

Everyone, especially a teenager, can feel awkward when they are the centre of attention. Uri, however, was poised and calm during our service of bar and bat mitzvah photography carrying out his responsibilities with gravitas and maturity that made his parents proud. See more…

It is our role to create professional hotel images that allow potential guests to imagine themselves in the picture, waking up after a sound night’s sleep in the comfortable bed, relaxing in the lounge with their favourite drink, or soaking limbs weary from an exciting day of sightseeing in the bath. Small family run hotels like the Fairway in London have to work hard to compete with larger, well-known chains, so when the owner asked me to take his B & B photos, I was happy to oblige.

One of the main challenges of this kind of work is creating a complete image of the room to allow guests to mentally step inside. Including all of a room’s features without creating any wide angle distortion requires skill and specialist lenses. I relied on my Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L and the EF 11-24mm f/4L full frame lenses to do these charming bedrooms justice, applying my experience to edit the perspective lines to minimise any distortion resulting from the wide-angle lense. We had a wonderful day filming Fatma and Omer’s wedding at Hylands House. The couple had chosen to spend their entire day in this gorgeous wedding venue in Chelmsford, and we were on hand to film them as they spent their last single hours, exchanged vows, and celebrated their newlywed status with their family and friends.

A Hylands House wedding has all the elements required to make a film maker or photographer extremely happy. The light, the proportions of the rooms and the beautiful decor with its intricate detail all come together into a cameraman’s perfect venue. Fatma was the most beautiful woman in Chelmsford when she glided down the elegant staircase to where her father was waiting to escort her to the ceremony, which the couple had chosen to hold in the elaborately decorated Banqueting Room. The luxurious red and gold decor were perfect for a Turkish wedding, while the enormous windows filled the room with flattering natural light.
