If I could choose only one word to sum up the wedding of George and Karina, it would be “elegant”. The couple’s sophisticated style was showcased perfectly not only in Karina’s choice of dresses for herself and her bridesmaids, but also through the efforts of Costas Petrides from Marilyns Events, who was responsible for their wedding at the Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London.
The traditional Greek-Cypriot ceremony took place at the All Saints Greek Church in Camden. Karina couldn’t stop smiling as she walked down the aisle to where George eagerly awaited his bride-to-be. See more…

Every wedding shares the same intent, but because the couples and their stories are unique, no wedding is the same. As a professional photographer, I love the role of creating photos that don’t only record events but which also convey emotions and atmosphere. I was, therefore, very excited when I captured Jiota and Konstantinos’ wedding in Mannheim, Germany. It is a joy that, even after so many years shooting weddings, my job never feels stale. I have photographed weddings some of the most vibrant cities, travelled to tiny fishing villages in Greece, and set up my tripod in opulent hotels around the world, but Manneheim was somewhere new for me. Danielle was keen to incorporate her half Cypriot background and heritage in her wedding to Graham, not only by holding the ceremony at the Greek orthodox church in Edmonton but also with her preparations. As one team of us set up at the church, another was already capturing the bride and her family as they performed the Cypriot stolisma and sent Danielle off from her family home with their blessings for the future.
The sun poured through the windows of the church, providing a natural spotlight as the couple exchanged vows before God and their families and friends, providing many excellent shooting opportunities for us.
We were excited to be back in Herts for the reception. The luxury country house hotel is one of our favourite venues not only because the staff there are so professional, but also because the setting is so picturesque. The light cloud cover was ideal for shots in the garden, and the couple were thrilled with their portraits and the group shots we took before the partying started in earnest. See more…
The Paros wedding of Florentia and Dimitris was extremely modern in that it spanned several countries. The Greek couple lives in the UAE but wanted their wedding in Paros which is one of the most beautiful Cyclades Islands. We were delighted when this lovely couple asked us to record their Wedding at Great Fosters, Surrey. Any bride and groom can tell you that one of the most challenging aspects of planning a wedding is making both families happy. As much as it is “their” day, a marriage also represents the joining together of two families, and it is important to incorporate appropriate customs to respect both the bride’s and the groom’s backgrounds, as Natalie and James did when they wed in Kingston-Upon-Thames.
Natalie’s family is British-Greek Cypriot and James’ is British, and their special day was very much a fusion of each heritage. The service took place at St George Greek church in Kingston-Upon-Thames. The early summer weather was the sort to make my heart sing, with just a few fluffy white clouds punctuating the azure blue skies.

Hers is Alex and Andriana’s image gallery and wedding videography at Sopwell House. The couple chose the beautiful and rural Twelve Apostles Church for their traditional Cypriot ceremony before celebrating with their guests a few miles away at the luxurious Sopwell House. The entire event went like clockwork, giving us the sort of day we dream of.
The 12 Apostles Church is a favourite with Cypriot brides and grooms who want a classic English country wedding. The former Anglican church sits peacefully in its parkland setting, looking as if part of the set for a film like Four Weddings and a Funeral. This lovely couple got married in Stuttgart at the Greek church Kirche der Hll. Apostel Petrus und Paulus. In the next day we had a gorgeous session at Ludwigsburg’s Palace in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg. I enjoyed so much working in these central-European historic surroundings and I’m wishing to the newlyweds all the best for their future together!

It was a rainy day, but there was no dampening the excitement for Maria and Michael’s wedding in Bristol. The day was a fantastic representation not only of their love for each other but also the love and support shown by their family and friends as they took this momentous step. On the Cycladic islands of Paros in the heart of the Aegean, the love of two people, for the sea, for life, was consummated with a truly original wedding. I was there to portray their precious moments and tell their inimitable story.
It was not a surprise that a day before we seemed to have ‘lost’ the groom who had gone for a ‘catch up’ with the Aegean Sea before the big day. D. and C.’s love affair with the Greek Islands had begun several years earlier when they went for a holiday and got hooked with kitesurfing.
Dimitri and Bobbie chose to celebrate their wedding at Orsett Hall when they tied the knot. Both from Cypriot Greek families, the couple incorporated many recognisable traditions into their big day which started with the Stolisma at their respective family homes. As the bride and groom to be were getting ready at the same time, we used two teams covering their preparations.
The wedding was at St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in North London. There are around two dozen Greek Orthodox churches in the capital, with this being one of the largest communities. The ceremony was beautiful, See more…
Island Residence in Varkiza, Athens – (updated) – Travelling just a few kilometres outside of Athens one can encounter this immensely beautiful location; Island Residence in Varkiza. An idyllic setting where the sun never fails to shine. Pavlina and Nikos chose to have a dual celebration of their son’s christening and their wedding on the same day. This is a choice many people seem to prefer nowadays. The decoration of the Island venue was absolutely breathtaking thanks to the work of Krista and Maria Maroulidou from the Guest Book. See more…
Being a local professional means that SH is a venue with which we are very familiar. The 4-Star country house hotel is a wonderful venue for all kinds of celebrations, with a Sopwell House wedding always being a memorable occasion. It is a highly picturesque venue with 12 acres of grounds outside and many decorative features within. While guests were tucking into their welcome drinks and canapes captured by our second team, our main team made the most of the romantic gardens for the post-ceremony portraits with just the bride and groom, as well as some group shots with their wedding party. As much as I love working in London, getting the opportunity to work abroad is a fantastic treat, especially in my home-country Greece where I’m usually moving for the summertime. So it was with enormous excitement that this lovely couple chose us for their wedding.
She was a classically beautiful bride in her strapless sweetheart wedding gown with a fabulously full ruffled skirt. The pure white dress was offset sensationally by her bridesmaids, whom she had chosen vivid purple strapless dresses for, and her matron of honour, who wore hot pink. The gardens were full of purple and white flowers, and we had a lot of fun taking shots before the bride, her family, and friends made their way to the church on foot, accompanied by musicians and merriment. In Greek-Cypriot weddings, some couples adapt customs to fit their more modern lives while others, like Georgina and Evros, retain many elements of their heritage and celebrate their wedding day in a thoroughly traditional manner. Modern or traditional, every couple is unique, which makes our job varied and enjoyable.

The weather was perfect for Christalla and Chris’ wedding at Orsett Hall, so Chris sat outside in the sunshine while his koumbaro performed the traditional wedding-day shave. At the end of his preparations, the groom looked as smooth as James Bond in his black dinner jacket, flanked by his groomsmen as they made their way to the church. While one team was busy at Chris’ house, another was at Christalla’s, capturing her preparations which included the stolisma that is Greek-Cypriot customary. It wasn’t immediately apparent on the day but, looking back at the images during editing, it is surprising how similar the three beautiful sisters look!
Following ceremony at St Demetrios Orthodox Church in Edmonton, where Father John and Father Evangelos graciously allowed us to capture the wedding, everyone departed for the Orsett Hall reception. The private gardens looked gorgeous in the sunshine, and we made the most of the setting to capture portraits of the newlyweds and group shots with their family and friends. See more…
Anna and Christos’ wedding in Birmingham and Leicester was a delight to capture. We started from Anna’s bridal preparation at her family house in Leicester. In true Cypriot style, we were welcomed into an abundant home buzzing with family and friends of all ages. It was a beautiful wedding day and made for a great setting for shots of our bride, Anna. We did our usual close ups but my favourite was capturing Anna getting ready in her parents bedroom and having her mother and fathers wedding photo in the shot with her.
Here is a summer wedding I’ve captured in Athens. The lovely couple chose their homeland as they wanted to ensure their special day was infused with unmistakable Greek flavour. We started with the bridal preparation at bride’s parents house in Cockfosters, North London. The bride was was surrounded by a loving and warm family!
The wedding ceremony and reception was held at the Langham Hotel London which was decorated with white. It was elegant and made for some great shots! Coming together the Indian and Greek cultures was just fabulous and groom made his grand entrance behind some Indian drummers! There was a beautiful ceremony followed by some latin guitar music.
Where the main reception was held, was the most fabulous place to capture. So many beautiful details and it was so well thought out, not to mention that decadent cake! We made sure to get some shots before everyone entered. After the ceremony all guests were invited outside to the Langham’s Middleton Rose Garden for drinks and canapés. See more…
This lovely wedding took place at St Mary Greek church in Wood Green also known as “Panagia”. After the ceremony we went at the Pendridge Suite in New Southgate to celebrate their big day. An enormous congratulations on their fabulous day.
There is nothing like a Greek-Cypriot celebration to reinforce just how vital family and friends are to a couple taking their first steps into married life. Although the bride and groom are the natural focal point, everyone close to the couple plays a role in their big day from the stolisma that helps them prepare, to the active roles played by the couples’ parents, maid of honour and best man throughout the ceremony. Even the way everyone congregates into one happy party on the dancefloor is a testament to the importance of the support of family and friends. I love my photography to tell a story, on this occasion that of Stavroula and Stathis’s Greek wedding (Griechische Hochzeit) as well as the their son’s christening. It gave me great joy to photograph their special day held in Stuttgart, Germany. As Stavroula readied herself for the big moment in the family home, I caught the details of her preparations at this welcoming residence. From the moments and details to close ups of family and friends. Smiles, laughs, anticipation, excitement.
Here is a collection of Nikos and Fani’s a wedding. The couple got married in Athens, Greece. Nikos is catholic while Fani is orthodox, and they arranged two ceremonies, one for each Church. The first one was held at the Roman Catholic Church in Psychiko and the next at the nearby orthodox church in Neo Psychiko. After the family and group photos we went to the Olympic stadium for the couple’s images. We then ended in Pallini for their beautiful reception.
