Island Varkiza – A beautiful wedding & christening event

Island Varkiza – Wedding & Christening (updated) –

Travelling just a few kilometres outside of Athens one can encounter this immensely beautiful location; Island Varkiza. An idyllic setting where the sun never fails to shine. Pavlina and Nikos chose to have a dual celebration of their son Miltiadi’s christening and their wedding on the same day. This is a choice many people seem to prefer nowadays. The decoration in Island Varkiza venue was absolutely breathtaking thanks to the work of Krista and Maria Maroulidou from the Guest Book. Being from Crete, the beautiful couple along with their guests indulged in a traditional Greek – Cretan wedding celebration in Athens. A Cretan wedding celebration cannot be considered complete unless the famous “lyraris” is present, encouraging the guests to sing along to the captivating rhythm of the traditional “Mantinades”. For this special occasion, the very charismatic Nikos Zoidakis created an enchanting celebratory atmosphere in which everyone took delight in. The younger children were endlessly entertained by the magician who was charming them with his tricks and contagious laughter.

The wedding ceremony took place in the small picturesque chapel at the Island Varkiza, Athens – The beautiful wedding ceremony followed by the christening of little Miltiadis, which was such a significant part of what made this day so special. A number of beautifully scenic photographs were captured from the koumbara’s (maid of honour) yacht and we are truly grateful for being able to do so. Following that, we photographed the wonderful couple with their friends and family on their special day by the beach. The warm charming colour of the Attic sky, entangled with the sea of Saronic Gulf made for a magical setting.

I believe that Greek weddings are the best weddings the world. And you can see this from this post. The food, the music and most important the view . Delicious! Been in Greece once and i saw a wedding from my hotel room balcony. I wanted to join them because I saw how much fun they have and how they celebrate two people life’s reunion. My best wishes to the couple and their son!

Colours. This is the extreme! Sometimes dangerous to have so many colours in the same time but the decorator as well as the photographer has done a brilliant work.
