Antonia & James | Panagia Church & Regency Banqueting Suite

There is nothing like a Greek-Cypriot celebration to reinforce just how vital family and friends are to a couple taking their first steps into married life. Although the bride and groom are the natural focal point, everyone close to the couple plays a role in their big day from the stolisma that helps them prepare, to the active roles played by the couples’ parents, maid of honour and best man throughout the ceremony. Even the way everyone congregates into one happy party on the dancefloor is a testament to the importance of the support of family and friends. We always find it a beautiful and humbling experience to witness these bonds in our role.

Antonia and James had a wonderful traditional wedding with plenty of beautiful details to keep our team busy. The beautiful couple had chosen to wed at St Mary’s Orthodox Church in Wood Green. Sometimes called Panagia, the church plays a significant role in the local Greek-Cypriot community, and we have captured countless weddings and christenings there. One of its benefits is the lovely open field and gardens in the front which make a fantastic setting for family shots and portraits of the happy couple.

The reception venue is also one we know well, as we have worked for many happy weddings at Regency Banqueting Suite in Tottenham, North London. The popular Cleopatra Greek-Cypriot band and talented bouzouki player, Michalis Theodosiou, entertained the couple and their guests, who enjoyed hours of fun and dancing before sending the newlyweds on their way into a bright future together.
