Bar and Bat Mitzvah Photography & Videography

 
 

A bar or bat mitzvah is a fixed point in a Jewish child’s life, and their parents prepare for this milestone occasion virtually from the day they are born. It is a special moment for young people to celebrate with their congregation, family and friends.

Our bar and bat mitzvah photography are a mix of portraits and storytelling photos to give you a collection of images you can display and share with your family and friends. After all, when the cake has been eaten and the confetti swept away, it is these photos that will remain with you as a reminder of the details and emotions of this happy day.

Being chosen to be present with a family on such an important occasion is always a privilege, and my team and I do not take this honour lightly. It is important that we spend a little time getting to know you and your child so that we can work together in a way that puts them at ease. Not all teenagers are confident in front of a camera and it’s our job to work in a way where they can relax and let their personality shine.We have been honoured to photograph and film bar and bat mitzvah celebrations in London and can travel to where you need us to be. Depending on your preference and the rules of your synagogue, we can also be present during Shul or to photograph your child as they prepare. Some families take the opportunity to have professional portraits taken of their other children, which is something we are happy to accommodate. We were blown away when we saw the decorations for this bar mitzvah by Τatiana Κ. at the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge London. It was full of vivid colours and beautiful details everywhere we looked. The incredible greengrocer decor was also provided by Tatiana, who is renowned for the breathtaking settings she and her team create.

Orthodox Bar Mitzvah | Pardes House School in Finchley London

The youthful energy of the guests at a bar or bat mitzvah is always a lot of fun, and it is enjoyable watching families celebrate together, sharing loving bonds in a tradition that is thousands of years old.

We started the day with some individual shots of Osher, who looked endearingly proud if slightly self-conscious in his suit and hat, showing signs of the man he will become. He is the oldest boy in a family with seven children, and we took the opportunity to do individual pictures of all the siblings. It is always lovely to have images of children at different stages of their lives – not only at a handful of milestone events – and something parents and grandparents appreciate enormously.

Whatever the event, we always look for those candid moments, the unscripted shots which capture the emotion of the day and show subjects at their most natural. A special thank you to Osher’s mother for allowing us to play a role in this momentous occasion. They made us feel extremely welcome, and we enjoyed our experience of the day. Mazel tov!

There is nothing like the atmosphere of a bar mitzvah celebration. Its religious significance is important, while the following reception can be like a great celebration, the concentration of teenagers creates an atmosphere similar to a school prom. It’s sweet, endearing, and always a lot of fun.

Everyone, especially a teenager, can feel awkward when they are the centre of attention. Uri, however, was poised and calm during our service of bar and bat mitzvah photography carrying out his responsibilities with gravitas and maturity that made his parents proud. See more…
