Munuse & Mustafa | Wedding at Meridian Grand, London

Munuse and Mustafa’s Turkish wedding photography at Meridian Grand was a little different from our regular service in that there was not a ceremony to capture. The couple had already tied the knot, so this was all about the celebration and giving the couple beautiful images.

The venue was the Meridian Grand in North London, and what a stunning venue it is! It was designed to cater for large wedding parties, so it is ideal for also Cypriot or Kurdish wedding celebrations but also for Punjabi weddings, Asian weddings, Hindu, Jewish, Sikh and African ceremonies. If you are searching for a stylish, modern venue in North London which can accommodate over 800 guests, then this could be the perfect place for your big day.

Mustafa and Munuse prepared themselves in the venue’s VIP suites. Although not a hotel, the venue has created these private spaces where a bride and groom can not only get ready for their wedding and reception, but also where a bride can retreat for a small break to touch up her makeup, rest aching feet, or just catch her breath during what can be an overwhelming occasion.

We had set aside time in the afternoon for a session which took place in nearby Downhills Park in Haringey. Our timing was perfect as it had been raining all morning, but the sun shone for us, and the rain made the park look fresh and green. The park is an excellent choice for outdoor shots as there are meandering shady paths, private corners and a rose garden. With 12 hectares of space, there is always somewhere quiet. The couple had also hired a beautiful vintage wedding car which we used as a backdrop from some very romantic shots of the bride, which turned out to be some of the favourites of the entire day.

Back at the venue, it was time to greet the guests for the formal dinner and celebrations. The men looked dapper in their dinner suits while the women’s dresses were elegant and glamorous. Although The Meridian Grand has spacious rooms for weddings with several hundred guests, they also have smaller function rooms for more intimate celebrations. The smallest room, the Infinity Suite, can seat up to 30 guests for a banquet or 60 if there is no dancefloor. At the other end of the scale, the Meridian Grand Ballroom can cater for 800 guests for a sit-down dinner with a dancefloor, or 1,200 people without a dancefloor.

The couple chose one of the medium-sized ballrooms, which was beautifully decorated with a flower wall and stunning lighting. They entered to the sound of traditional music and the cheers of their guests. After dinner, it was time for speeches, with the groom making a particularly heartfelt declaration of love and appreciation for his new bride. The speeches were followed by energetic dancing from guests of all ages, with the celebrations continuing long into the night.

Congratulations to the newlyweds, and thank you for choosing us!
