Dilan and Erda’s Wedding

With their Turkish Cypriot heritage, we knew that Dilan and Erda’s wedding would be a lively occasion. It did not disappoint! We were thrilled when this friendly couple asked us to provide our services, which started at the bride’s final dress fitting at The Boutique in Enfield. We are so grateful to the owners, Andrea and Christine, for letting us take these shots in their stunning bridal boutique. They were so accommodating, and it meant that we were able to get exactly the shots that Dilan wanted, including some beautiful messages of love for Dilan and her husband to be by their mothers.

Two teams set out early in the morning to capture the preparations at Dilan and Erda’s respective houses. A few bittersweet tears fell as Dilan prepared to leave her family home, but these were quickly forgotten once the musicians started. Both the bride and the groom had traditional musicians play them out the door as they left for their ceremony.

We had time between the ceremony and the reception, so we took advantage of the good weather to use nearby Downhills Park as a backdrop for some portraits of the newlyweds. These shots are always some of my favourites. It’s such a privilege to be present in this first hour of married life, watching as they realise the hard work is behind them and they can let their hair down and celebrate with the people they love the most. At the beginning of the dinner after the amazing grand entrance of the couple with the violinist playing, we took images of all the guests as they were sitting in the wonderful decorated Regency Suite. Dilan was almost too enthusiastic when smashing the pot during the Testi dance, and I laughed again when editing the shot right before the clay piece hit my camera, thankfully without damage! 🙂

The team at the venue are absolute professionals and used to catering for guests who need lots of delicious food to fuel a night on the dancefloor. Watch more great weddings at Regency Banqueting Suite.
